Penny has worked in a variety of businesses while expanding her auditing, accounting and tax awareness. As a Marist College alumni, Penny believes in the importance of education and giving back to the community. She is on the Accounting Advisory Committee at Dutchess Community College; as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), a committed member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). Denise O’Donoghue has been the office manager for Penny B Lowe CPA PC since 2007. After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in History from SUNY Cortland she entered the workforce and has accumulated over 24 years of experience and knowledge in the managerial field. As the office manager, Denise plays a vital role in ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. Denise is the core of our firm whom both clients and employees turn to whenever a question arises. Gary Helstrom joined our office in August of 2015. Gary is in charge of the payroll department and works very closely with our payroll partner, ADP. Gary brings 25+ years of customer service experience. Gary is also independent insurance broker. He is licensed for life, long term care, health and fixed annuities as well as an Aflac rep. With unparralled knowledge he can help our clients navigate the very difficult situations that arise with their insurance needs.
